Chauncey Billups

Detroit Pistons Point Guard and 2004 NBA Finals MVP

Chauncey Ray Billups (born September 25, 1976 in Denver, Colorado) is co-captain of the National Basketball Association’s Detroit Pistons. He played college basketball at the University of Colorado, where he was recently honored as one of only five players in school history to have his jersey lifted to the rafters.

Picked third overall in the 1997 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics, Chauncey was traded to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Kenny Anderson midway through his first season. In addition to the Raptors, he also played for the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves before finding a home in Detroit as the team's starting point guard.

Billups helped lead the Pistons to the 2004 NBA championship, where he averaged 21 points and 5.2 assists per game and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the series. In 2005, the Pistons just missed earning a second straight NBA championship—their bid was ended in a heartbreaking seven-game series with the San Antonio Spurs. Billups would likely have been named Finals MVP again had Detroit prevailed.

Besides leading his team to the NBA Finals for the second straight year, 2005 also saw Chauncey earn a spot on the 2005 NBA Second All-Defensive Team, along with teammate Tayshaun Prince. Teammate and fellow co-captain Ben Wallace took home the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Billups is an outstanding free-throw and 3-point shooter, earning himself the nickname "Mr. Big Shot." His favorite nickname is "Smooth," which he says "just sounds like Chauncey." He is a good defender, a solid playmaker, and a feared "clutch player" who often takes and makes the last shot for his team. He is also versatile enough to play shooting guard if the need arises.

When it comes to TAHITIAN NONI® Juice, Billups is a true fan. “TAHITIAN NONI Juice is not only a part of my life, it’s a part of my family, too. My uncle, Coach Thomas Billups, introduced me to TAHITIAN NONI Juice and told me about the various benefits that I would receive by incorporating TAHITIAN NONI Juice into my daily routine.

“Finally, I began drinking TAHITIAN NONI Juice and after a few weeks I noticed my endurance levels were higher and my ability to perform late in the fourth quarter had improved. I’m glad I tried it! Now it is a valuable part of my workout regimen.”
