![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tahitian Noni International PROVO, UTAH – Tahitian Noni International (TNI) is reaffirming the company’s policy on animal testing. The company is firmly committed to not permitting animal testing unless there is no realistic alternative. The company does not have a pure no-test policy, as was suggested in recent news reports. “We are committed to developing products specifically to improve the health and extend the lives of consumers and companion animals. We also are committed as a company to ensure that animal testing is done only if there are no adequate alternatives or if it’s required by governmental agencies in countries where we do business,” said Kelly Olsen, President, Tahitian Noni International. As posted on the Tahitian Noni Web site (www.tni.com), the following is the relevant portion of the company’s official statement: While developing and testing Tahitian Noni® products, TNI complies with all laws respecting the humane and ethical treatment of animals, including FDA regulations and the USDA Animal Welfare Act. TNI allows animal testing for products only when alternate scientific methods are inadequate or inappropriate, but the company does not perform animal research at any corporate facility. When animal research is necessary, it is conducted under contract with academic institutions and professional organizations who are committed to providing test animals with good care and humane treatment, using as few animals as necessary to yield scientifically reliable results.
